Who am I?

I’m a husband, father of two, and a developer. I was born and raised in Maine, now living in New Hampshire.

I love to read, listen to podcasts & audiobooks. I spend entirely too much time online researching topics of interest. I’m a sports enthusiast.

I do my best to stay in shape – running, cycling, and weight lifting. It’s been a while since I’ve hiked or gone camping, but I still love those activities. I’ve retired from fly fishing.

I graduated from Brewer High School, in Maine. I attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute for two years in Massachusetts but later transferred home to graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from the University of Maine in Orono.

I later received my master’s degree in computer science from Boston University.

Education is very important to me.

I attended the very first Big Nerd Ranch ‘iOS Essentials with Swift’ course. I loved it; I highly encourage developers to attend one of their courses.

I work at Riverbed on AppInternals and SteelCentral. My work includes design and implementation of a comprehensive enterprise application for monitoring applications. It is fun and fascinating work.

I’ve previously worked for NetScout, Sanders/Lockheed, two small start-ups, and one consulting firm. I’ve had a wide range of experience.
